NOVELISTS FR started early 2013 when Florestan and Amael Durand met former A CALL TO SINCERITY members Matteo Gelsomino, Nicolas Delestrade and Charles-Henri Teule. Starting strong with the release of 6 singles, one every two months, which created the foundations for a strong and loyal fanbase from the get-go, NOVELISTS FR then released their debut album on Arising Empire in november 2015.
After touring Europe extensively with bands like FOR TODAY, BREAKDOWN OF SANITY, DREAM ON DREAMER, SILENT PLANET etc.. NOVELISTS embarqued on a summer of 2017 tour with established bands WHILE SHE SLEEPS and NORTHLANE. Best way to conclude the »Souvenirs« (2015) album cycle. Finally back with a follow up album soberly named »Noir« released September 8th via Arising Empire in Europe and Sharptone records in the USA. This concept album, shows a growing maturity in the band's music and confirms them as a very promising young band in the modern metal scene.
After supporting the album in Europe on tours with MAKE THEM SUFFER, ESKIMO CALLBOY, aswell as on their own headliner tour, 2018 brings new opportunities for the band, a headliner tour in Asia, and also their touring debut in the U.S.A. with LIKE MOTHS TO FLAMES. In the summer of 2019, the band announces some changes had to be made on the name due to legal issues.
In October 2019, NOVELISTS FR announces their new album would be released in January of the following year, after a month long Europe tour with BEING AS AN OCEAN.
NOVELISTS FR has become, in only a few years, a rising star within the progressive metal scene, and it seems they are now ready to confirm it by releasing their highly anticipated third effort.
LANDMVRKS’ adventure first started back in 2014, originally under the name of COLDSIGHT which lasted for their first few years. Florent Salfati and Nicolas Soriano founded the project with diligence and determination, and soon they started looking for motivated and experienced musicians to join their fold. This ceaseless motivation would be the key to driving the band towards creating their completely unique universe.
At first, Florent Salfati played the guitar – back then he was also the singer for a band called HATE IN FRONT. LANDMVRKS struggled to find a singer that would fit the band’s universe. The line-up was almost complete after Rudy Purkart (bass) and Thomas Lebreton (Guitar) joined the band.
In 2014, after testing various singers without success, the band decided that Florent should become the frontman. At the time, they also asked their friend Nicolas Exposito (ex-WHERE EAGLES DARE, STRAIGHTEN THINGS OUT) to take the position for the vacant guitarist. The final line-up was there, and that is when the band’s name changed from COLDSIGHT to LANDMVRKS.
For two years, the band composed songs, recorded and started playing local shows by sharing the bill with bands such as FIRST BLOOD, MORE THAN LIFE and little by little, LANDMVRKS started making a name for themselves in the French metalcore scene. During this time, the band released a few singles and videos to help build up their fan base.
In May 2016, LANDMVRKS released their first album »Hollow« entirely produced by Florent Salfati and Nicolas Exposito. They decided to release this album independently, and went out touring on the roads of Europe to showcase this opus.
They seduced their audiences with a modern metalcore style peppered with hardcore riffs and catchy choruses. This album helped secure them slots on big festivals bills such as Hellfest in 2016 and Longlive Rockfest, helping to strengthen their reputation.
In 2018, the band signed a contract with Arising Empire Records for their second studio album. This record has a more mature approach with the band delivering a richer result, with more definition and taking influences from hardcore and 90s punk-rock.
The band comments: “We are very happy with the result, this album is the fruit of almost three years of intense work and we think we managed to get our music where we wanted to take it.”
‘Fantasy’ and ‘Scars’ are the first two singles taken from their second full-length creation, demonstrating how successfully the band has managed to build their name and assert its own style.
